Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today announced further growth to its low fare route network from Lithuania with two new Vilnius services to Stockholm and Billund starting from 14 September and operating with three and two weekly frequencies respectively.
The airline also launched a rescue fare of EUR 19.99 for passengers affected by yesterday’s announcement of Air Lituanica ceasing operations. Passengers in possession of a cancelled Air Lituanica flight reservation between today and 30 June on services between Vilnius and Paris or Amsterdam can book via the Wizz Air call center to fly on Wizz Air’s Vilnius – Paris Beauvais or Vilnius – Eindhoven routes and must bring their original reservation when they travel. Wizz Air launched this unique rescue fare of EUR 19.99 to minimize disruption to Air Lituanica’s passengers affected by yesterday’s announcement of the Lithuanian airline ceasing operations. The rescue fare is subject to seat availability and passengers are advised to book quickly.
Wizz Air is now offering a total of 24 routes to 14 countries from Lithuania. Tickets on Wizz Air’s newest Lithuanian routes are already on sale and can be booked on wizzair.com. Seats are available from just EUR 19.99

György Abrán, Chief Commercial Officer of Wizz Air, said: “Wizz Air understands the difficulties of affected passengers to find alternative travel arrangements during the upcoming summer vacation season after Air Lituanica ceased operations yesterday. I am happy to announce the two new routes from Vilnius to Stockholm and Billund commencing in September as well as inform all affected passengers that we are now offering a rescue fare of EUR 19.99 on Wizz Air’s route between Paris Beauvais, Eindhoven and Vilnius and hope that this minimizes the disruption suffered by these passengers. Bookings can be made via our call center until DATE and the original Air Lituanica reservation must be brought to the airport when flying on Wizz Air’s unique rescue fare. We hope to bring as many passengers home to their families as needed.”
