Transport options from Istanbul airport to Sultanahmet include train, bus, taxi, car, shuttle, or town car. The Metro is the most recommended and the cheapest mode of transport from the airport. It will take approximately 58 minutes in travel time. If you opt to take the Metro you will first take the M11 Metro from Istanbul Airport to Kağıthane.

Then take the M7 line to Mecidiyeköy and finally take the M2 line to Vezneciler. The bus is more expensive and takes about 1 hour and 42 minutes. A taxi ride is also available and it only takes about 35 minutes. Driving yourself or hiring a shuttle bus is also about 35 minutes. There are no direct trains or buses from the airport to Sultanahmet, so transfers are necessary. The distance between Istanbul Airport and Sultanahmet is 39 km, with a road distance of 48.4 km. The Metro is the best way to travel without a car, taking about 58 minutes in total.
