The best time to visit Cairo is between October and April, when the weather is warm during the day and cool at night. Peak tourist season falls between December and February, with large crowds at hotspots like the Pyramids of Giza and higher hotel prices. For a less busy experience with decent accommodation bargains, the shoulder months from March to April and October to November are ideal. These months offer a chance to explore Cairo’s outdoor and cultural scenes without the intense heat or busy atmosphere of peak season. During the months of May through September Cairo experiences extremely hot temperatures where temperatures can soar above 35°C, and is a time best avoided.

There are a few travel options available to get to the Giza Pyramids from Cairo Airport. If convenience and affordability are factors you can take a bus. It will take you from Cairo Airport to Ramses Station in about 1 hour and 16 minutes. Alternatively, you may take a bus via Sakiat Mekki, and that’s about 1 hour and 20 minutes. If you prefer the most prompt route, then taking a taxi is the fastest way—it will take a little more than 31 minutes. Self-drive is also possible; it will take about 31 minutes to reach your destination. The distance between Cairo Airport and the Pyramids of Giza is about 33 kilometres by road.
