Travel to Budapest

Budapest, also known as the pearl of the Danube, has lots of vibrant culture on offer, as well as outdoor activities and festivals through the whole summer season.

Throughout the summer, you can enjoy arts at the city's iconic performance venues, such as the Margaret Island, the Danube bank, the City Park and the Buda Castle, while you can also admire the masterpieces of architectural heritage. The wide range of cultural events includes classical music concerts, operas, operettas, musical performances, dance productions, contemporary performances and children's events, so everyone from the youngest to the oldest will find the entertainment they like best. On the way, of course, it is also worth visiting the city's many famous museums.

If you are a music lover, make sure you go to Sziget in August. It is one of the biggest music festivals in Europe, where stars from all over the world perform for almost a week. The styles are diverse, ranging from rock and pop to electronic music. In addition to the rich musical selection, film screenings, exhibitions and theatre and circus performances also add colour and turn Sziget into an all-round arts festival.

If you want to relax outdoors, you couldn't find a better place than Budapest's parks. In the City Park you can have a picnic, go boating on the lake, and even attend outdoor concerts or wine festivals. On Margaret Island you can bike, run, swim, go to the pool and to an open-air theatre. Buda Castle offers a breathtaking view of the city in addition to historical buildings, and if you want a refreshing cultural experience, visit the Palace of Arts or the House of Hungarian Music.
