It is compulsory to wear a face mask during your WIZZ flight when travelling to or from a country where it is still mandated by the local law. When neither departure nor destination country requires it, wearing a mask is subject to personal choice. For flights over 4 hours, we recommend you bring more face masks.

Flexible travel options

Covid tests

To board a Wizz Air flight, you must meet the travel requirements for each country that you travel to, including your final destination and any transit country. Travel requirements and any necessary documentation will be checked prior to boarding at check-in. Note that individual countries have their own travel restrictions and these restrictions may change depending on your departure country and your citizenship. Travel restrictions are constantly changing, so we strongly recommend that you check our Travel Restrictions Map before booking your flight for information on vaccinations, pre-registration forms, requirements upon arrival, quarantine on arrival and COVID-19 test certificates. Also check for any updates on travel restrictions from official country sources. We have provided a helpful list per country here. For easier travel within EU member states, we recommend obtaining the EU Digital Covid Certificate.

On May 1 we have implemented additional preventive measures aiming to minimize the potential spread of coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

The following procedures will be enforced on all our upcoming flights and we ask all our passengers’ support to conform to those:

to make sure we fulfil best our promise of aiming to minimize the potential spread of coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) onboard, wearing a face mask is compulsory for all passengers (including children above 6 years old) to wear a face mask during your WIZZ flight when travelling to or from a country where it is still mandated by the local law. When neither departure nor destination country requires it, wearing a mask is subject to personal choice.
Exception rules can be applicable to only those passengers who present the following: this medical certificate issued and signed by their doctor justifying the reason of the exception AND proof of negative COVID-19 PCR test (not older than 48 hours before the outbound and inbound flights’ scheduled departure time). Based on verification of the above documents you will be allowed to travel without a mask.
- Please contact our Special Assistance Call Centre at least 48 hours in advance to inform us of the fact that you need to be exempted from the obligation of wearing mask.
- Passengers must present themselves at check-in desks at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure of their flight in order to show the aforementioned documents for inspection.
- Before boarding the aircraft you might also be required to show the hard copies of the above documents to the Wizz Air personnel at the boarding gate or onboard, to be eligible to be exempted from wearing a mask during your flight with Wizz Air. No any other document can be accepted in order to grant such exemption. The documents shall be possessed for the whole duration of your travel.

Make sure to have your own mask and wear it properly throughout your travel. If you have a flight over 4 hours, we recommend you bring multiple face masks. Wizz Air reserves the right to refuse carriage to anyone who fails to comply with the mask wearing requirement!

follow the general guidelines about social distancing (minimum 1.5 meters) whenever possible at the airport, on the way towards the aircraft and onboard;
continue applying personal hygiene actions;
be cautious and respectful towards fellow passengers;
it is your full responsibility to make sure you are in good health and fit to fly; in case you unexpectedly experience any symptoms of illness during the flight, immediately turn to one of the crew members

We strongly suggest you to always check the travel regulations and applicable measures (mask/other protective gear wearing, social distancing) on the local official websites, with local Embassies, health or other responsible authorities before travelling! It may happen you will be not allowed to enter the country of destination (if not being a national/resident of the country of arrival) or quarantine might apply. Regulations are changing rapidly and vary per country, therefore always make sure you have the latest information to have a smooth journey. Please also pay close attention to related announcements at the airport and by our crew onboard, as different rules may be valid depending on local specifications.

On top of the above, we are also taking a number of sensible precautions to ensure you are in safe hands:

the option of online check-in to have less contact with airport agents
at the airport:
- bags self-drop opportunity
- collaborations with airports and local authorities on hygiene and safety implementations
- altering waiting areas’ to enable better distancing, sanitizing
- more self-service points and less touch-based procedures to allow less contact with agents
onboard:
- more thorough and additional overnight disinfection of the aircraft
- air inside the aircraft is changed many times through special air filters (HEPA filters)
- COVID-19 tailored trainings, protective gear and equipment for our crew members
- hygiene related reminders
- WIZZ menu will be also accessible via the WIZZ mobile app or online
- altered disembarkation as per crew guidance to keep the rules of social distancing
