Wizz Air, a leading low-cost carrier in Ukraine and one of Europe’s fastest growing airlines, is pleased to announce today its further expansion on the Ukrainian market by adding a new station in Zaporizhzhya and launching six new routes in March 2020.
Operating twice a week with modern Airbus A321 and A320 aircraft, the newly announced low fare services will connect Zaporizhzhya International Airport with Vienna in Austria; Budapest in Hungary; Gdansk, Wroclaw and Krakow in Poland; and Vilnius in Lithuania. Ukrainian travelers can already book their tickets via wizzair.com and on the airline’s mobile app from just UAH 569 / EUR 19.99*.
With these six new routes, passengers from both eastern and south-eastern regions of Ukraine are now able to travel Europe-wide. And by having a wide choice of WIZZ destinations available from Zaporizhzhya, Ukrainians can choose where to travel next to fulfil their wishes: to see the "Paris of the East" in Budapest; to taste Sacher Torte in Vienna; to enjoy a boat adventure in Gdansk; to be amazed with a Fountain Show in Wroclaw; to discover charming old town and vibrating night life in Krakow; or to check out fascinating street art in Vilnius.
Being a pioneer of affordable travel in Ukraine, Wizz Air is further diversifying its low fare network on the Ukrainian market with operations from Zaporizhzhya airport which is the 5th airport for WIZZ in Ukraine. Now the airline is offering 61 routes to 13 countries, including the services from Kharkiv and Lviv to Budapest which will commence in June 2020. The airline’s operations continue to provide Ukrainian passengers with affordable travel opportunities connecting Ukraine with the rest of Europe, while contributing to the development of the local community and economy and stimulating the local job market in aviation and tourism sectors. In the first nine months of 2019, WIZZ carried over 1,8 million passengers on its low fare routes to and from Ukraine, which represents over double of traffic year over year and makes Wizz Air the largest low-cost carrier in Ukraine.
