Wizz Air, Macedonia’s leading airline and one of Europe’s fastest growing carrier, is celebrating carrying 5 million passengers on its low-fare routes from Macedonia.
Wizz Air underlines its commitment to the Macedonian customers by expanding its low-fare network and creating more affordable travel opportunities from Skopje and Ohrid airports, currently offering 30 routes in 14 countries.
In the last 7 years, since we first started to operate in Macedonia, Wizz Air has become the leading airline in the country and gained the confidence and loyalty of 5 million passengers transported since 2011 across the country by constantly investing in local operations and bringing affordable travel opportunities for passengers. Our Macedonian fleet based in Skopje consists of 2 Airbus 321 and 2 Airbus A320 aircraft, representing an investment of more than $ 430 million ⃰. This year, the WIZZ local team in Macedonia has grown to more than 150 local members, and according to industry standards, WIZZ operations have facilitated more than 900 ⃰ ⃰ indirect jobs in 2017.
This year the airline increased its seat capacity by replacing 2 Airbus A320 aircraft from the local fleet with two brand new Airbus A321 aircraft and announced one new route from Ohrid to Vienna commencing in November.
In 2018, Wizz Air is offering over 1.5 million seats on sale on Macedonian routes with fares from only MKD 599/ EUR 9.99***. WIZZ’s seat capacity has increased by 19% year on year, which further contributes to the country’s economy and stimulates the job market in aviation services and tourism sectors.
