Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today announced a new route from Budapest to Bucharest beginning 19 September. Wizz Air will operate the new route four days a week and is introducing the route with fares from 5,990 HUF. Wizz Air also will increase the number of flights each week from Budapest to Lisbon to four from two, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday each week beginning 27 March. Fights from Budapest to Lisbon are on sale from 14,990 HUF. Earlier this month, Wizz Air announced further growth of its low fare route network and launched three new services from Budapest to Liverpool and Reykjavik, commencing in March, as well as a Budapest-Ibiza service commencing in June. Wizz Air, Hungary’s most popular airline, saw a 12 percent increase in passenger traffic in 2015 and now offers low-fare tickets to 23 countries on 58 routes from Budapest and Debrecen.
