Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today announced further growth to its Lithuanian low-fare route network with twice weekly flights starting 23rd March 2016 between the Lithuanian “summer capital” and seaside resort of Palanga and London Luton.
With an initial seat capacity of 37,000 seats, the new Palanga route is expected to benefit the Lithuanian coastal region’s employment base by attracting tourism to the Baltic Sea. The people of Western Lithuania, including the country’s third largest city, Klaipeda, now have access to affordable air travel without having to travel to Vilnius or Riga.
Tickets on Wizz Air’s newest Palanga route are on sale and can be booked on wizzair.com. Seats are available from just EUR 29.99 (24.49 GBP)*
Since its first flight from Vilnius in 2011, Wizz Air has become the leading airline at Vilnius International Airport. In these four years, Wizz Air carried over two million passengers and grew its route network from Lithuania to 25 international low-fare routes in 15 countries. Wizz Air has been continuously improving its consumer services, recently introducing seat allocation, and an additional allowance for passengers with priority boarding to carry a personal item with their cabin baggage. Focused on good customer service since the outset, Wizz Air also launched in 2015 a mobile website, introduced new fare types (Basic and Plus) and a simplified fee structure for booking changes.

Wizz Air’s Daniel de Carvalho said: "Wizz Air continues the expansion of its low-fare route offer in Lithuania and we are thrilled to announce our first Palanga route. This is an opportunity for the local tourism sector to attract UK visitors on WIZZ’s low airfares to its famous Lithuanian seaside resort on the Baltic shore. Seats on the new route went on sale today and we urge customers to snap up the lowest fares on wizzair.com, mobile website or through our smartphone apps.”
