Wizz Air Holdings Plc (“Wizz Air”), the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today announced passenger statistics for June 2015 together with a summary of important business developments delivered during the month.
In June 2015, Wizz Air announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding relating to an order (subject to shareholder consent) for 110 Airbus A321 neo aircraft, worth in excess of $12.5 billion at current list prices.
Wizz Air also expanded its fleet, base and route network including:
• Two new bases opened in Slovakia (Kosice), Bosnia and Herzegovina (Tuzla)
• One new destination added: Birmingham, Wizz Air’s eighth UK destination
• Five new routes added: (x1) Hungary, (1x) Poland, (x2) Moldova, (x1) Romania
• Three new A320’s have been added to its fleet bringing the current fleet to 62 A320 aircraft
Wizz Air continues to enhance its offering for customers and launched a new website in June which has been optimized for mobile devices.
