Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today announced a new Budapest route to Donetsk in Ukraine which will be operated two times a week on Wednesdays and Sundays from 30 April 2014.
Wizz Air’s new service will provide a direct access to eastern Ukraine and one of the country’s largest cities and business centers. From now on Ukrainian travelers will benefit from Wizz Air’s low fares to Budapest from Kiev as well as Donetsk. The new service is expected to contribute to Hungary’s tourism and hospitality industry. Seats on the new Budapest – Donetsk route are already on sale from as low as HUF 8,090* and can be booked on wizzair.com.
With the addition of this Donetsk air link Wizz Air’s Hungarian network expands to a total of 37 routes in 2014.
Wizz Air spokesman, Daniel de Carvalho, commented: "As hometown airline of Budapest, Wizz Air continues to stimulate Hungarian air traffic with very low fares and a growing route network. Donetsk, the country’s fifth largest city, is an important industrial centre in eastern Ukraine. We expect to attract both Hungarian business and leisure travelers on the discovery of yet another eastbound Wizz Air route, while offering Ukrainian consumers an affordable access to Hungary as a great tourism destination. Also many Ukrainians will use Budapest as a gateway to Europe.”
