Wizz Air, the largest low-cost, low-fare airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today celebrated its 50 millionth passenger carried in its successful 8 year history. The lucky passenger was traveling from Warsaw Modlin to London. Anna Wilson from Poland, living in London and married to a Scotsman, was Wizz Airs passenger number 50 million. She received unlimited free travel opportunities on any routes of the airline’s network for one year.
"We are delighted to welcome our 50 millionth passenger aboard today, marking a new milestone of the airline’s development. Undoubtedly, Wizz Air has become the airline of choice in Central and Eastern Europe. We will continue to offer very low fares and great services to our ever expanding customer base by enhancing our route network in existing markets and opening new geographies. While it took us a good 8 years to deliver the first 50 million passengers, it will take us less than 4 years to deliver the next 50 million passengers." – said Jozsef Varadi, Chief Executive Officer of Wizz Air.
