Wizz Air, the largest low fare - low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe celebrates its 7th anniversary on 19 May, 2011.
Since its first flight on 19 May, 2004 from Katowice in Southern Poland, Wizz Air has become the largest airline in Central and Eastern Europe operating from 15 bases, in Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Serbia and Lithuania. The number of passengers carried in the past 12 months exceeded 10 million, 22% more than in the previous 12 months.
Wizz Air operates one of the youngest fleets in the world, consisting of 35 Airbus A320s. The airline has a further 104 aircraft on order, which will deliver the airline’s growth plans for many years to come.
