Wizz Air, the largest low fare - low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe announced today that it carried 9.6 million passengers in 2010 representing a growth of 23% year on year. The average load factor throughout the year was 84%, same as in the previous year.
Wizz Air currently operates a fleet of 34 Airbus A320 aircraft out of 12 bases in Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine and the Czech Republic. The airline has announced new bases in Belgrade, Serbia and Vilnius, Lithuania to commence operations in April 2011.
"These results again demonstrate the robustness of our ultra-low cost business model. We have continued to strengthen our market leadership in Central and Eastern Europe with significant growth even under challenging circumstances.
