Cyprus is a land with so much history to see, with culture to enjoy and cuisine to savour – and with Aphrodite as your guide – you will have more reasons to stay and explore Cyprus than you might think.
Let’s start with Larnaka, the airport city. Situated on the south-eastern site of the island, Larnaka is distinguished by its eye-catching seaside promenade, lined with palm trees framing the entrances of dozens of bustling modern cafes and restaurants. In the middle of the island, Lefkosia (Nicosia), the capital, is a busy modern commercial and business centre with an old quarter surrounded by a Venetian sandstone fortress wall with a moat and heart-shaped bastions. On the south coast is Lemesos (Limassol), a cosmopolitan city with a thriving cultural scene and a dynamic modern life. Pafos on the other hand, situated on the west coast of Cyprus, is a place that invites you to plunge into history and follow in the footsteps of Aphrodite, the goddess of Love.
If you are a lover of archaeology do not miss a visit to the Choirokoitia Neolithic settlement, one of the earliest examples of human presence on the island, the magnificent archaeological site of Kourion, with its well preserved Greco-roman theatre and the stunning mosaics of Pafos which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. But if you just want to relax, off you go to Agia Napa, where you can find some of the most beautiful beaches of the Eastern Mediterranean. You can lose yourself in its crystal clear waters, under one of the bluest skies in the world. Because everything in Cyprus is a mere heartbeat away!
