Wizz Air adds Palma de Mallorca to its list of destinations served from Bucharest
Wizz Air, the largest low fare - low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, announced today that it would open a new route from Bucharest to Palma de Mallorca (Spain) from 23 June 2012.
Palma de Mallorca is the capital city of the autonomous region of the Balearic Islands and one of the most attractive summer destinations in Europe. Over 10 million tourists visit the island every year in search of Sun, Sea and Sand. The Wizz Air service will be operated twice a week initially (Monday’s and Friday’s).
With this new service and the one to Verona announced earlier this month, the number of destinations served from Bucharest by Wizz Air will be 21 next summer.
“Wizz Air plans to carry close to 1,5 million passengers to and from Bucharest in 2011, that reflects an impressive 40% year on year growth. The recently announced deployment of the 6th aircraft to Bucharest base next year, and the introduction of new routes shows Wizz Air’s continued commitment to Romania and its capital,” – said John Stephenson, Executive Vice President of Wizz Air.
